Pleasant View Seeks Subcontractors To Work On New Facility May 19, 2016 Corunna –Pleasant View is planning a brand new facility to be located at the Commons development in Caledonia Charter Township. The new Pleasant View building will be approximately 103,000 sq. ft. with 136 beds, the same number as the current 62-year-old facility. There will be three separate “neighborhoods:” one for short-term rehabilitation, a second for memory and dementia care, and a third for long-term skilled nursing. The current facility has many rooms with three or four beds. Soon, 100 of the 136 beds will be private, and 36 will be in semi-private rooms. “Caring for our residents is our most important duty. We will continue to keep that priority while providing an even better home for them,” said Retta Parsons, Chair of the Pleasant View board of directors. Spence Brothers has been selected as the Construction Manager for the project, and is seeking local subcontractors and suppliers who would be interested in being a part of the process. They will be hosting two informational sessions on May 25th and 26th, at 9 AM both days at the offices of the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership (215 N Water St, Owosso). “Working with local contractors and suppliers is a priority, both for the Pleasant View board, and for Spence Brothers. We hope that these sessions will help us connect to providers who will keep the business local, and provide the best end product possible to the residents of the new facility,” said Brian Keeler, Vice President of Preconstruction Services for Spence Brothers. “We encourage our local businesses to participate in these informational sessions, and keep construction dollars in our community,” said Justin Horvath, President/CEO of Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership, who is providing assistance on the project. For planning purposes, RSVPs to these informational sessions are requested. Interested parties can respond to Brent Jones at (989) 725-9241, or bjones@sedpweb.org.
